Vancouver, BC · HVAC

Vancouver HVAC SEO. Audited, not pitched.

1,710 people search for HVAC services in Vancouver every month — and the long-tail is almost entirely unclaimed. We've audited the top heating and cooling shops across Greater Vancouver, and the same six problems show up on nearly every site. Heat-pump retrofits are exploding in Metro Van, mini-split installs are booming, and most of the demand is going to whoever ranks first. We help that be you.

The Vancouver HVAC market

A market reshaped by the heat-pump shift.

Vancouver HVAC search has moved fast — 1,710 people query it every month. Provincial CleanBC rebates, the federal Greener Homes program, and city pressure on gas-furnace replacements have pushed heat-pump retrofits to the top of every consumer's research. The shops winning Vancouver search are the ones who built dedicated content around heat-pump installation, ductless mini-splits, and rebate navigation — not the ones still leading with "furnace repair Vancouver."

Add the seasonal AC spike (heat-dome summers since 2021 changed buying behaviour), strata work in Yaletown and the West End, and the older-housing retrofits in Kitsilano and Mount Pleasant — and you have a market with strong commercial intent across half a dozen distinct keyword clusters. Most local sites only target one.

What we see on most Vancouver HVAC sites

The pattern is consistent across the audits we've run in this market: legacy sites built for the gas-furnace era that haven't adapted to heat pumps, missing schema markup, no neighbourhood pages, and Google Business Profiles that don't list heat pumps in their service categories. Even shops doing 200+ heat-pump installs a year aren't ranking for "heat pump installation Vancouver" because nothing on their site says they do it.

The market leader has been online since the late '90s — but their blog stopped publishing in 2013. Average Domain Rating across the page-1 sites is 11. Only 1 of the top 5 has review stars in Google's search snippets. None of this is irreversible.

Same patterns. Same fixes.

Six problems we find on nearly every Vancouver HVAC site.

That's what we fix.
No heat-pump landing pageHalf the demand is heat-pump-led, but the homepage still says "furnace repair Vancouver."
No review stars in SERPsOnly 1 of the top 5 Vancouver HVAC sites shows review-schema rich snippets in Google. The other 4 have great Google ratings — invisible in search because the schema isn't there.
No neighbourhood pagesOne service-area page covering Burnaby to White Rock. Competitors own each neighbourhood.
Incomplete Google Business ProfileClaimed but bare. Heat-pump and mini-split categories not selected. Photos from 2017.
NAP inconsistenciesBBB has the old phone, Yelp has the wrong unit number. Google reads inconsistency as a trust signal — the wrong kind.
Pages Google can't findService pages exist but aren't linked from the main navigation. Google never discovers them.

What's open in this market right now.

Three high-intent topics with real monthly demand and zero coverage from the top page-1 Vancouver HVAC sites. The first contractor with dedicated, well-built pages on these takes the long-tail.

CleanBC rebates

CleanBC heat pump rebate stacking, 2026 cycle.

Federal + provincial + utility rebates can stack to over $11,000 on a single install — but the eligibility rules changed for 2026. None of the page-1 sites cover this. Search demand grows month over month as homeowners hit renovation season.

HPCN compliance

HPCN contractor requirements and rebate denials.

The Heat Pump Contractor Network has specific certification rules — and rebates get clawed back when contractors don't meet them. Homeowners search for this AFTER a denial. None of the top sites address it. High-intent informational queries that convert to consultations.

Heritage homes

Cold-climate ducted heat pumps in heritage stock.

Kitsilano, Kerrisdale, and Mount Pleasant homes pre-1950 don't fit a cookie-cutter mini-split install. The shops getting these jobs are the ones explaining duct-retrofit options on a dedicated page. Niche, but high-ticket.
